An afternoon of Spanish and Tapas- 30/06/2010 Mrs Robinson organised the tapas afternoon as part of an end of year project for the Spanish GCSE pupils. One of the topics within the GCSE syllabus is food and culture and Mrs Robinson thought it would be a good idea to introduce the girls to how Spanish food differs from English food and how it is prepared.
The girls researched tapas and found a number of recipes for hot and cold tapas and non-alcoholic sangria. Mrs Robinson prepared the tapas and cooked Paella and Maria Franco Maxwell, a Spanish friend of Mrs Robinson, demonstrated to the girls how to make a Spanish Tortilla. All demonstrations were in Spanish and the afternoon was spent eating and drinking and speaking in Spanish to one another. |
