Freya, Year 11 boarder
Thornton is home to just over fifty girls, approximately 20% of the school. The Boarding Houses at Thornton have a welcoming and homely atmosphere. Around half of the boarders are from the UK and half are from overseas including girls from America, Chile, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal, Spain and The Ukraine.
The system is very flexible. Girls can choose to be weekly or termly boarders and many girls also enjoy the option of flexi-boarding (staying one or two nights per week).
